Apple reveals new iPad Pro, Apple TV and iPhone 6S

Apple has now released details on their 2015 market offerings in the shape of new a larger iPad tablet, a TV box with its own app store (which can also play games) and an upgraded iPhone 6S and 6S+.

iPad Pro

The new iPad Pro sports a massive 12.9 inch Retina screen with a sharp 5.6 million pixels, the highest‑resolution Retina display of any iOS device to date. The 12.9‑inch screen offers 78 percent more display area than that of iPad Air 2.

At the heart of the new iPad Pro is a new A9X, Apples third‑generation chip with 64‑bit desktop‑class architecture. It delivers up to 1.8 times the CPU performance and double the graphics performance of iPad Air 2.

Apple are now also offering a new magnetically connected keyboard and a touch styles that is supposed to mimic a pencil. Apples suggest that the new iPad Pro would be best suited to work tasks, video games and both editing and watching movies.

Apple TV

Apple also also unveiled a new set top TV box with its own app store and new operating system. The device uses a remote control with a touch-sensitive panel and a microphone giving you voice control via it's Siri virtual assistant.

Not only does the new Apple TV provide better, easier interaction, it now comes with the ability to play video games. Games advertised to be ready at product launch include - Manticore Rising, Rayman Legends, Shadowmatic, Transistor and Guitar Hero.

The new Apple TV features a powerful 64-bit A8 chip, which is designed to be power efficient and to sustain a consistently high level of performance.

Apple don't, as yet, have any of their own game controllers, but the Apple TV is compatible with MFi-based controllers. Not only that, but you can also use the "Siri Remote" as a dynamic game controller via it's touch surface and virtual directional pad and also by the built-in accelerometer and gyroscope.

iPhone 6S & 6S+

The iPhone 6S and 6S+ are upgraded from the earlier 6 and 6+ versions, with some notable new features. Apple have upgraded their multi-touch functionality to include "3D Touch", which senses how hard you press on the screen, thus giving you the ability to navigate more quickly. Incorporated in to this new functionality is something call the Taptic Engine, which provides suble feedback taps to you. This new functionality offers a wealth of possibilites for easier navigation and information display.

The front facing camera has received an upgrade, from 8-megapixel to 12-megapixel and can now 4K video - up to four times the resolution of 1080p HD video. The user facing camera has also received an upgrade to 5-megapixel HD.

iPhone 6s is powered by Apples custom-designed 64-bit A9 chip, giving 70 percent faster CPU performance, and up to 90 percent faster GPU performance.

Apple Watch OS 2

Apple also announced an upgrade to its smartwatch operating system that will be released on 16 September. Watch OS 2 will allow third-party apps to run natively on the device rather than relying on a linked smartphone's processor. In addition to loading faster, the apps will also gain the ability to play video and access the Watch's microphone and sensors.
