Disney Unveils plans for Good Dinosaur range of toys and apparel

Disney is gearing up for the U.K. theatrical release of The Good Dinosaur with plans for a broad range of original product lines.

The Good Dinosaur, which premieres in the U.K. on the 27th November, asks the question: "What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?".

The Good Dinosaur key licensee Tomy has created a new toy line that features action figures such as interactive Arlo and Spot, talking plush toys and a Galloping Butch, among others. Other planned products include Arlo Walkie Talkies from Kid Design; a scooter and bicycle from Mondo; games and puzzles from Cartamundi and Ravensburger; a homewares range from Stor featuring lunch boxes, plates, bowls and cups; footwear from Leomil; and a range of t-shirts for boys and girls from NJ Screen Prints.

As a lead up to the new film, the studio is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of Toy Story, the first-ever feature film made entirely via computer-generated animation, with new product ranges as well. Toy Story continues to be one of the most popular properties for Disney. To celebrate the franchise's milestone 20th anniversary, Mattel and Thinkway have revealed new product lines, which are available now.

"We’re excited to be working with these best-in-class licensees to reveal a range of diverse products to tie-in with the eagerly anticipated release of the visually stunning The Good Dinosaur," says Mike Stagg, general manager, integrated retail and licensing, The Walt Disney Company U.K. and Ireland. "We’re also thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of Toy Story; this franchise continues to offer fantastic opportunities for retailers and licensees as innovative new products continue to provide customers with more memorable moments at playtime.”
