Dragon Quest: Builders announced for Playstation 4, 3 and Vita

A new game in the popular Dragon Quest series was teased early summer 2015, but it now has an official release date... for Japan at least. At first glance the game is very Minecraft-esque, with the familiar emphasis of crafting and construction, however, what Dragon Quest: Builders does offer is its own unique charm and a story driven experience.

Plot: The game is set in Alefgard, the world of the original Dragon Quest. The game is based on a parallel ending of Dragon Quest: before the final battle, the hero accepted the evil Dragonlord's suggestion - each rules one half of the world. But that was a trap, and the hero was eliminated. From then on the world was dominated by monsters. With time passing by, a new hero (the player character) appears to revive the desolate world. Players gather "material" all over the world in order to rebuild the land of Alefgard from scratch.

It's not actually clear if this Dragon Quest game will make it outside of Japan, however. Square Enix has only confirmed Dragon Quest Builders for Japan, where it will be released on the 28th January 2016. Here's hoping!
